Set up the nursery for less

From the first night to the first steps, a baby needs a surprising amount of equipment. Refurbished baby equipment helps you cover the basics with items that have been checked by experts, and keeps the budget for the things that really need to be new.

  • Save up to 40% vs new: on playpens, monitors, sleeping bags and more.
  • Min 12-month warranty: every item is covered.
  • 30-day free trial: test it in your own home.
  • Free returns and delivery included.

Refurbished means a used item has been checked, cleaned, repaired where needed and sold again with a warranty.

Who it is for

  • Parents preparing a nursery: a sleeping bag, a monitor and a playpen in one order.
  • Families with limited space: foldable playpens and cot reducers that fit small rooms.
  • Caregivers: a second set of equipment for grandparents’ houses.
  • Home cooks of baby food: appliances like the Béaba Babycook Duo.

How to choose

Sleep

Sleeping bags, such as the one from The Little Green Sheep rated at 2.5 Tog, and duvets like the Träumeland Daunentraum are listed with their size and material. Match them to the room and season. A cot reducer such as the Doomoo Cocoon makes a larger bed feel cosier for a newborn.

Play and safe space

Playpens from Roba, BabyBjörn and eSynic differ in size and in how they fold. Measure the spot where it will stand, and check the mattress listing if one is needed.

Monitoring

A video baby monitor, such as the Chicco model, is useful for light sleepers. Read the description for what is included.

Feeding and bathing

Nursing pillows like the Domiva Soft Nova, baby scales and baby baths with a changing table are available. Think about where you will use them and how often.

Condition

Every listing describes the item’s condition. Experts check each product, and the min. 12-month warranty applies.

Comfort and care

Footmuffs such as the Kaiser Iglu Nature and Schlitti keep a baby warm in the pram, and a humidifier like the Reer 2-in-1 can help in dry winter rooms. Check each listing for details on use.

Brands on the page

Among others, you will find BabyBjörn, Babymoov, Béaba, Chicco and Djedjeo, plus Roba, Reer, Kaiser and Foppapedretti. Many are brands that parents already know from the shop shelf, and each focuses on a different corner of the nursery.

Because this category is so varied, it helps to make a short list before you start: what the baby will sleep in, where the baby will play, and what you need to feel at ease at night. Then look at one section at a time.

Refurbished vs new

You can save up to 40% vs new. Refurbished equipment is more sustainable vs new as well: items that are used for a short stage in a child’s life are ideal for a second round.

Refurbished vs second hand

Private second-hand equipment may lack parts, a tested condition or any warranty. Refurbished items are checked by experts, include a min. 12-month warranty and can be sent back during the 30-day free trial.
